In many rural regions across Africa, Muslims lack proper places of worship that honor the sanctity of prayer and bring communities together around the values of brotherhood and compassion. They pray under trees or inside fragile mud structures, yet the call to prayer continues to echo through their villages, and the remembrance of God remains alive in their hearts.
In response to this difficult reality, Aksa Association launched the Mosque Construction Project in Africa—building mosques as beacons of guidance and as spiritual and social centers serving impoverished communities. The mosque’s role extends beyond prayer; it becomes a place for Quran memorization, children’s education, and the promotion of peace, love, and social solidarity.
The association carefully selects the most underserved areas in coordination with trusted local partners and field teams. The mosques are built using practical designs tailored to the simplicity of the local environment and the needs of the people. Each mosque is fully equipped with prayer carpets, Qurans, sound systems, and—where possible—water tanks.
This project is not merely about constructing walls; it’s about planting hope in hearts and reconnecting communities with their Islamic identity. It is a remarkable opportunity for donors to leave a lasting impact and gain ongoing rewards. Building a mosque in a needy village is a form of sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) that yields blessings in this life and the next.
Thanks to your generous contributions, barren ground is transformed into sacred space, forgotten villages are illuminated with light, and the underserved become united through faith. With each mosque built, we write a new story of giving, hope, and spiritual elevation.
