As the blessed month of Ramadan draws to a close, the spirit of faith and generosity is renewed, and the time for Zakat al-Fitr arrives—a key pillar of social solidarity in Islam. Its purpose is to meet the needs of the poor and bring joy to their hearts on the day of Eid. In Gaza, where economic hardships intensify and poverty burdens thousands of families, this act of charity becomes even more vital—a lifeline in a moment meant for celebration.
In response to this urgent need, Aksa Association launched the Zakat al-Fitr Project in Gaza, ensuring that donations reach eligible displaced and vulnerable families at the correct time. The project is implemented in cooperation with local committees and specialized field teams that work meticulously to identify the most deserving households and distribute the aid in an organized, dignified, and confidential manner.
The project involves distributing either essential food items or their cash equivalent in accordance with Islamic guidelines. This allows families to meet their basic needs and celebrate Eid in a way that preserves their dignity. The association ensures that distributions are completed before Eid prayer, allowing beneficiaries to feel the joy of the occasion in time.
Zakat al-Fitr is more than a religious obligation—it is a living expression of mercy and solidarity. It offers a powerful opportunity to bring smiles to faces weary from hardship.
Thanks to your contributions, this duty becomes a comprehensive humanitarian act that connects hearts and reassures the people of Gaza that they are not forgotten—that Eid is not complete until its joy and blessings are shared by all.
